Thai Health Minister reiterates opposition to vape!

2022-09-23

Thailand's Ministry of Health remains opposed to vape, saying they can affect consumers' health, the Bangkok Post reported on August 29 local time.

Thai Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul stressed the need to continue to ban the import of vapes to protect young people from the health risks associated with vapes at a national conference on cigarettes and public health in Bangkok.

According to a survey conducted by Thailand's National Statistics Office last year, more than half of Thailand's estimated 80,000 vape users are between the ages of 15 and 24.

This clearly shows that e-nebulizers are creating new smokers, especially young people," Charnvirakul said. At the same time, a growing number of international studies have found that smoking e-nebulized produc vape has a negative impact on the brains of young people." He also noted that "the experience of other countries shows that banning e-nebulized products is the most effective measure to control the smoking of vapes."
