Filter Magazine reveals FDA is cracking down on unauthorized vapes!

2022-09-23

On September 15, local time, it was reported that the U.S. Department of Justice is seeking a court order threatening a lawsuit and requiring the destruction of unauthorized vapes.

Filter magazine said it has confirmed that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) notified the DOJ by Sept. 1 that at least two open-system vape companies violated the federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act because the manufacturers did not submit premarket tobacco product applications and continued to sell their products.

Filter表示FDA正打击未经授权的电子雾化产品

"We plan to seek a court order permanently enjoining you ...... from manufacturing, distributing, selling, or offering for sale, directly or indirectly, any new tobacco product at or from your facility, unless and until the product receives and in fact receives marketing authorization from the FDA. " reads a letter signed by Christina Parascandola, a senior litigation attorney with the Department of Justice.

The two companies that received the letter have now been ordered to destroy the companies' vapes under FDA supervision.

In an interview with Filte magazine, Amanda Wheeler, owner of an Arizona vape store, said, "It is simply unacceptable that the FDA is now enlisting the Department of Justice in this botched war on vapes. Vapes are helping ordinary Americans quit smoking, and they are now facing eye-popping threats from federal law enforcement officials."
